Dead Her (2018)
I'm here about a missing plane, I rang before, I tell them. That's right, a guard in the booth says, and he begins reading from a logbook. You said, there was a plane, but that the plane is now gone, and that this took place a number of weeks ago, with one passenger - the pilot - still missing?
Yes, but I've figured it out now and I'd like to un-report it.
Have you found the plane?
Not exactly, I might have found where it went down, but I wouldn't say it's there anymore.
And the pilot? Presumably - you were together.
We were married, I say, but not really. I open my bag and take out the wedding photo while he opens a drawer and takes out a form. Age and identification? he asks. I push the photo towards him, I think I am very old. And I have to admit, I am older than him, that's true.
Mam, he says, this is not a valid photograph and it is clearly not your smile. He lays down his pen. You will have to account for yourself somehow. Something real. What’s your occupation?
I'm an artist.
Do you have proof of this, a gallery maybe, a business card, is that what you would have?
